David Madden

David Madden is a co-founder of MBM and holds the position of Director.

David area of expertise lie in commercial construction including office fitouts, clubs, restaurants and large residential and office building projects. He has a comprehensive knowledge of commercial procurement methods, practices and capabilities. He also has extensive experience in Dispute Resolution and Expert Witness matters. David has been involved in the Sydney Construction Industry since 1984 and is an active member of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors having held the position of Vice President of the NSW Chapter in 2005/06.

Ian Berson

Ian Berson is a co-founder of MBM and holds the position of Director.

Ian's areas of expertise lie in high end residential, major multi story residential and a range of infrastructure/ landscaping projects. Ian has provided services comprising commercial advice, contract administration, cost planning and monitoring to residential and commercial projects.

Dougal Spork

Dougal joined MBM in 2002 and holds the position of Director.

Dougal has provided services to Government and associated authorities, including commercial advice, contract administration, cost planning and monitoring and economic appraisals. He has had extensive involvement in major Government projects with a particular emphasis in the Health & Educational fields.

Dougal is heads our Brisbane office servicing the South East Queensland PPP project.

Paul Janes

Paul joined MBM in 2004 and holds the position of Director.

Paul has provided advice to both the public and private sectors in the traditional areas of cost consulting, Bills of Quantities, tender reviews and post contract administration. He has substantial experience with the preparation of expert reports and litigation support. Projects have included health and education, hotels and airports. Paul has had an extensive involvement in Correctional Facilities including the Lithgow and Silverwater Prisons. Paul is an active member of Institute of Quantity Surveyors having served as Councillor for 7 years.

David Pearson

David joined MBM in 2004 and holds the position of Director.

David is a General Practice Chartered Surveyor and he specialises in advising public sector clients on the planning, procurement and management of their properties and facilities. He has worked for the UK government and consulted to the US Federal and Australian Federal and State Governments. Client engagements have included advising the US government on the planning, design and funding of Federal courthouses, the Australian Government on the management of its overseas properties including embassies and residences and the NSW Government on social housing. David works substantially on the firm's Public Private Partnership engagements and heads the PPP Public Housing project.

Xan Duong

Xan joined MBM in 2002 and holds the position of Director (since 2010).

Xan has 15 years experience in the provision of cost management / quantity surveying services to the Sydney construction industry.

Xan has a well rounded understanding and knowledge of the contractual and commercial requirements of the industry having worked as a Project Manager and Contract Administrator with a construction company for 2 years.
