MBM were engaged as the lead cost consultant for the expansion of the Werribee Open Range Zoo.

The expansion of Werribee Open Range Zoo focused on enhanced visitor experiences. The scope included the installation of a 1.5km Sky Safari with aerial views of the zoo, in addition to the construction of infrastructure such as bridges, animal exhibits, and essential service areas. The service areas were equipped with administration offices, curatorial spaces, food preparation facilities, veterinarian spaces, and service yards – all designed to support the zoo’s daily operations and animal welfare.

MBM delivered comprehensive quantity surveying services that encompassed master planning and schematic cost planning for the Zoo’s expansion. MBM’s cost management guidance ensured that each project phase was executed within budget, while the delivery of strategic value engineering supported sustainable and cost-effective solutions throughout the development.
