MBM is commissioned by JLL, a global real estate firm that specializes in commercial property on behalf of Services Australia to provide a full range of quantity surveying services for the fitout contract for 28 floors of the 205 North Quay Tower which is currently under construction. As part of a significant project, which will elevate Brisbane’s city waterfront, this will provide a state of the art workplace fitout for Services Australia, consolidating staff into one bespoke and central workplace. Designed by architecture firm Hassell, REX, and Richards & Spence, this 34-storey commercial tower is set to combine public design with business. The building comprises of 61,893sqm of commercial space and incorporates a gym and fitness centre, childcare centre and the ground level is accessible to the public. The workplace fitout for Services Australia is being designed by architects Woods Bagot and services engineers Floth.

 

With a 6 Green Star rating, the North Quay tower will become a haven for emerging workplaces seeking to meet environmental objectives by taking advantage of Brisbane’s sub-tropical climate.

 

The scope of services provided on this project are test-fit concept cost planning, detailed design cost plan, cost reporting, trade tender packages review, assessment of variations, and construction phase progress payment recommendations.

 

Members of MBM’s Brisbane quantity surveying team including Mareli Scholtz – Senior Quantity Surveyor, supported by Associate Director – Reiss Draper, have been dedicated contributors to the project team since 2021. She has stated “we are thankful to have worked on a landmark project that will have a huge impact, not only on Brisbane’s waterfront but on the productivity and wellbeing of staff at Services Australia. The development will present opportunities for the local economy and provide a space for people that live and work within the CBD.”

 

This project is expected to be completed early 2025.
